Would you like to take an interpretive walk with one of our expert instructors? Our custom naturalist walks offer a personalized experience for groups up to 15 people.

The Basics:

You can choose specific topics that you'd like to focus on, or just request a general naturalist walk. We supply the naturalist!

Topics that we typically cover in our generalist walks include:

  • Edible, Medicinal, and Useful plants

  • Wildlife and their Tracks and Signs

  • Bird Language and Behavior

  • Ecological Relationships (how all of the elements in the chosen ecosystem relate to one another)

  • General Plant Identification

  • Human Management Practices, Past and Present

  • Basic Geology

  • Trees, their Stories, Uses, and Human Connections.

Cost: $300 for the first two hours, then $50 for each additional hour. For group sizes greater that 10 people, an additional $5 per person per hour. For naturalist walks more than one hour from Bellingham, cost is an additional $40 for travel time.
