Herbal Medicine Making Workshop Series, Ferndale WA July 14th - September 22nd

Class duration: 3hrs per class every other Wednesday evening
Cost: $45 per class and Participants go home with medicines we make in class. If you sign up for all six you get a $45 discount, and if you sign up for three you get a $20 discount.

This evening work shop series is held outside at Wayside Botanicals Medicinal Herb Farm in Ferndale WA. Class is in a covered outdoor structure surrounded by a plethora of medicinal herbs and permaculture gardens. Each workshop will build upon the others to give participants a great foundation in beginning herbal medicine making. Each participant will be able to tour the gardens, meet and harvest the herbs we are working with and bring home medicines we make in class.

Each class is $45 and 3 hours long, every other Wednesday evening from July 14th to September 22nd. We are in a covered outdoor structure that allows for shade and to accommodate appropriate social distancing and Washington State covid guidelines. There is plenty of parking and bathrooms are available. The grass is mowed and on fairly level ground, please inquire for wheel chair accessibility. Sign up for one, some or all six!

Come learn how to get the most out of your herbs with water-based extractions. We will harvest in the garden, make delicious tea, and learn which herbs are best suited for different extraction methods. We will also do a tea sit meditation which will give participants a wonderful new tool to connect deeper with herbs and really experience the different taste and action profile of the plants. In this workshop we will discuss and harvest herbs specifically for making infused oils, which we will turn into luscious and healing salves and lotions. We will also discuss and demonstrate harvesting and drying techniques for preserving the harvest. Participants will bring home the salves and lotions we make in class. Come learn how to get the most out of your herbs with alcohol-based extraction. Many herbal constituents are best extracted in alcohol and they make potent and concentrated medicines that are portable and easy to take. In this workshop we will discuss and harvest herbs best suited for alcohol extraction, and demonstrate both folk and weight to volume tincture making and application. Our emotional bodies can benefit form medicinal herbs in profound and subtle ways. in this workshop we will learn the benefits and uses of flower essences, how to make them, and take home medicines. Participates will also be guided through a plant sit meditation, which is a fantastic tool for building relationships with the herbs we use as medicine and connecting deeper with the psychospritual realms of healing. Ever wonder how those essential oils and hydrosols are made? Interested in making your own? In this workshop we will go through the step by step process of making Hydrosols and Essential oils. We will also discuss the many uses and benefits of both,. Participants will help harvest herbs and make the hydrosol, plus bring home medicines we make in class! We are so blessed here in the pacific northwest, to be home to so many medicinal mushrooms and lichens. These potent medicines have a broad range of medicine and in this workshop we will discuss and demonstrate how to get the most out of your Fungi medicines.
