Fall Root Medicine Making Workshop

$60.00

Date: Friday September 26th, 2025
Time: 1-4pm
Instructor: Reisha Beck
Location: Twisp WA (exact location will be given after registration)

Come process wild medicinal roots with me and turn them into medicine for you and your community! In this very hands-on workshop participants will learn how to: process the wild medicinal roots that I harvest, when and how to harvest with reciprocity, and how to create a relationship with these plants while preserving them into herbal medicines.

Some of the roots we will be working with : yellow dock, red root, Arrowleaf balsam root, Lomatium dissectum, Sitka valerian, sweet root…. and more!

Participants must bring their own medicine making supplies if they wish to bring prepared medicines home. Please bring your own glass jars, and whatever solvent (vinegar, alcohol, glycerin, honey…) you wish to preserve them in. Students who don’t bring their own supplies will still be able to take home processed roots to dry.

Basic tincture and glycerite making instructions will be given, this is not an in-depth tincture/glycerite making class. If you’ve never made a tincture/glycerite or oxymel before, you will go home with basic understanding of folk medicine making.

One of the goals of this workshop is to help facilitate relationship building with these potent plants, and for participants to see them in their true form, learn how these plants taste and smell, and get hands on experience making medicine for yourself and your community.
