Introduction weekend in the Columbia Basin ( exact location will begiven after registration). Weekend will cover: wild harvesting ethics, seasonal harvesting rounds, and creating a community for the harvesting year.
What we will harvest and tend: Wild onions, biscuit roots, cattail and tule rhizomes, willow, and sagebrush, plus whatever else we stumble across. We will also tend a wild willow patch for to improve its health and longevity.
What we will process and create: cattail and tule rhizome flour, steamed wild food breakfast, and a random weave willow harvesting basket.
Participants can also fish at the lake will camp by, and be prepared for campfire feasting and plant processing.
